Music 'n Motion Classes
Children begin to learn musical concepts by 'rote.' The teacher draws musical patterns of whole, half, quarter notes or rests on their white board, the children draw those same on their white boards, then we take it to the piano to play it. Our Music 'n Motion students also draw treble clef notes of do, re, mi, fa, sol, la, ti and high do. They learn to 'track' those notes on the keyboard. Because of the repetition in these classes, most student learn how to read music by age 4 1/2 simply because of the studies done in the Music 'n Motion classes. (Click on Pre Kids'n Key to the left for more information.) A parent or guardian attends lessons with the child. Fun and fast-paced, musical concepts build upon concept. Class lesson time is 45 minutes once per week. Classes are on-going and filled upon availability of openings. Curriculum: Our Music 'n Motion material kit contains: A canvas, embroidered zippered book bag, a supplemental notebook, an attendance sticker book, a set of rhythm sticks, a white board, marker and eraser, and our current curriculum. We begin new curriculum each January, June and September, (fees apply) however, new students may enroll at any time based on availablity of openings. Our Early Childhood Music students perform twice each year in more formal concerts. We also put on Performance Parties at the end of each curriculum set. Our Music 'n Motion classes set the stage for a successful Kids 'n Keys adventure beginning sometimes as early as 4 years old.For specific information regarding the Music 'n Motion classes in your area, please click on your city to the left.
